Gelbvieh Profit Partners Elects Directors, Selects Leadership

Gelbvieh Profit Partners Inc. held its annual meeting and elections in conjunction with the 2008 American Gelbvieh Association Annual Convention. A unique company, Gelbvieh Profit Partners, bids on and buys Gelbvieh-influenced feeder calves and partners with several feedyards throughout the United States. Gelbvieh Profit Partners supports commercial cattle producers who use Gelbvieh or Balancer bulls in their crossbreeding systems.

Elected to serve a three-year term on the Gelbvieh Profit Partners Board of Directors were John Burbank, St. Catharine, Mo., and Sam Castleberry, Castroville, Texas. They are part of a nine-member board that helps direct Gelbvieh Profit Partners.

Officers for Gelbvieh Profit Partners Inc. include: Steve Munger, Highmore, S.D., President; John Carrel, Columbus, Mont., Vice President; Skyler Martin, Oregon, Ill., Secretary; and John Burbank, St. Catharine, Mo., Treasurer. Slim Cook of Cody, Wyo., serves as the Gelbvieh Profit Partners Operating Manager, and Wayne Vanderwert serves at the Chief Financial Officer.

The remaining board members include: Stuart Jarvis, Phillipsburg, Kan.; David Judd, Pomona, Kan.; Vaughn Thorstenson, Selby, S.D.; and Scott Starr, Stapleton, Neb.

The third Equity Drive for Gelbvieh Profit Partners is underway. The listed share price is $319.57, which represents an 8.5 percent increase over last year. The additional equity will allow the company to be more active in the market and allow more flexibility in arrangements with feedyards. For more information on the equity drive or to learn more about this innovative company, contact Slim Cook at 307-272-2024 or email him at slimck@tribcsp.com.
